How to Say “Thank you” in Vietnamese

Vietnamese speakers are very attentive to age, relationship, and social status when expressing gratitude. Use the appropriate form of cảm ơn (thank you) together with a respectful address if the person is older, of higher status, or you are in a formal setting. In casual situations among friends, the plain cảm ơn is enough.
